Watermelon
Our seedless watermelons grow and mature to various sizes to suit all consumers from 4kg to about 14kg, and exhibit a rich red seedless flesh. Find our delicious seedless watermelons at our Market Stand or at your local Retail Store and Independent Green Grocer. The juiciest, ripest melons feel heavy in your hands, have a yellow belly, and sound hollow when you tap them. Add chunks of sweet watermelon to a salad, salsa, cool drink, or just enjoy it as it is! Watermelons can be kept for up to 2 weeks uncut at room temperature.
Other Melon Varieties
Yellow fleshed watermelon varieties are typically round and are also seedless.
Yellow flesh in your watermelon might come as quite a surprise since the exterior doesn’t look any different than the red variety. The flesh of watermelons turning yellow is a natural mutation. In fact, the originator of our commercial variety, which comes from Africa, is a yellow- to white-fleshed fruit. The fruit has a sweet, honey-like flavour as compared to red-fleshed melons, but many of the same nutritional benefits. Yellow watermelon fruit is now widely available and a fun alternative to traditional watermelons.
Pumpkin
We specialises in growing two types of pumpkins;
Bold, chunky orange flesh with a sweet & nutty flavour. It can be grown all year round with our Northern Australian supply commencing in late June through to late January and then the Southern Australian supply from mid-January to July.
Also known as Jap (kabocha variety), it has a ribbed, grey-green mottled skin and a nutty, deep orange flesh. It can also be grown all year round with our Northern Australian supply commencing in late June through to late January and then the Southern Australian supply from mid-January to July.
Sweet Potato
We grow multiple varieties of sweet potatoes to suit the varied tastes and cultures which make up the Australian community. Our gold, red (red skin, white flesh) and Purple/Hawaiian (white, skin, purple flesh) sweet potatoes are grown in Queensland and Northern NSW. The warm conditions, rich soils, abundant fresh water and lots of sunshine, produce beautiful, fresh tubers packed with essential vitamins, minerals and antioxidants!
GOLD - The gold variety accounts for 9 out of every 10 sweet potatoes consumed in Australia. Varieties include Beauregard, Orlean and Bellvue
WHITE (Hawaiian) - This variety have a white skin with purple flesh (WSPF, Eclipse)
PURPLE/RED - These have a white flesh, dark red to purple skin and exhibit a beautiful sweet, nutty flavour (Northern Star, Southern Star, Murasaki)
